I did a lot of research into a a large folding knife that would have "tactical" characteristics AND be a good knife for hunting/skinning. I found it in the Kershaw Lahar. I wanted quality steel and VG10 is one of the best. Most knives of similar quality were 0 or more. It is a heavy tactical knife. If I were a cop or soldier, I would want something lighter, but as a regular joe, I like the heft of it. It is a LARGE knife as well. Look at videos on YouTube to get an idea. Quality knife that came nice and sharp. Feels good in the hand and flips out well. You can also switch it from point down to point up when carrying it.

The Lahar features ambidextrous index-finger "FLIPPER" opening system. All that's needed is a slight roll of the wrist to assist the blade in the opening motion. The blade is VG10 (super cutting performance) stainless-steel which is also found in KAI's elite Shun kitchen cutlery. Textured G-10 scales offer superior grip in wet conditions and the pocket clip is both removable and reversible.
