I don't see why people buy things and try to use them for what they are not designed to do? This is the smaller of the Boot Blades and I have both of them. Both are great letter openers and both would be nice to have with you if you are ever attacked. You could do some serious damage with this on a person or animal. The blades are not sharp like a real blade but if you stabbed someone it would still cut them open. If you want a sharp blade then spend the money and get a metal blade knife. What I like is that I don't have to worry about them rusting or corroding and in an emergency when someone is attacking me at least I'll have something that is sharp enough to stop them. Cold Steel's metal boot knife is 63.00 compared to this 10.00 blade. I can buy six of these for the price of a metal one and still protect myself and they are not the quality of the metal knife but wasn't made to be. I would like to see someone break one of these, and show me the abuse they used to break it. These are strong little Grivory knives..I also plan on buying the FGX TAI PAN and the FGX PUSH BLADE 2..Cheers.
