The 8Cr13Mov stainless blade is leaf-shaped and ground flat from spine to cutting edge for cutting performance. For the price point, this is a spectacular deal on a Spyderco. I've owned other higher-end Spyderco knives that cost over 0 and to be honest, you definitely can tell the difference between them and the Tenacious...but at for a Tenacious, I got way more than I expected. It's a great every day carry (EDC) knife. It's lightweight but still has a decent heft to it, G-10 has a nice tackiness to it that allows a sure grip, reliable liner lock, and a pocket clip that allows for point up/down carry.

This knife was such a great deal, I actually bought both the Tenacious plain edge and the serrated blade. IMHO, I'd stick with the plain edge unless you really need a serrated blade for a particular purpose. Not sure if there's a manufacturing flaw in the liner lock of the serrated blade Tenacious, but the liner lock on the serrated blade doesn't seem to snap into place as securely as the liner lock on the plain edge Tenacious.

Anyways, for the price point, this is an outstanding EDC knife with some great features. Is it your typical Spyderco quality? Not really, but what the hell do you expect for ?

At just over this is a fantastic little knife. The G-10 handle feels great. The lockup is superb, with no play up and down or left and right. Deployment speed is very fast and the blade comes razor sharp out of the box. The ability to move the pocket clip tip up/tip down on both sides is another nice feature of this blade. Also, functional jimping on the thumb ramp allows you to get a strong grip on the handle. While this knife is made in China, that doesn't mean it is lower quality. The overall quality of the Spyderco Tenacious is outstanding.
