Customer Review
I've wanted one of these knives for about four years. And the price I got it on Amazon was just to good to pass up. There are lots of reviews for this knife so I won't go into the usual things you're going to hear in a review. I'm going to tell you about pretty much the only thing that keeps this from being a five-star knife. And that is that the pivot is a rivet instead of an adjustable pivot pin. Because of this you can't adjust the opening action on the knife to suit your needs. I myself drilled out the rivet and replaced it with an adjustable pivot pin which really does make all the difference. One other tweak you might want to perform on this knife is taking off the pocket clip and bending it just a little(emphasis on little) so it's not quite so tight I also used a Dremel tool to smooth out the textured grip under the clip making it a little less likely to chew up your pocket. So whereas this knife is a good solid four-star knife, it's very easy to make it the five-star knife it should be.
Cold Steel 29XXC X2 Voyager Knife Overview
The Voyager X plain blade is precision milled and hand fitted parts with extra stiff springs. This provides a lock that is safer and stronger than most traditional folders. The blades are extremely wide and ground thin at the edge for tremendous shearing potential. Each handle in the newly redesigned Voyager Series is now more oval shaped in cross-section, increasing strength and stiffness.
